About the Meeting of the Minds
The Meeting of the Minds Conference is an inter-disciplinary graduate research conference organized by the Graduate Students' Association of the University of Lethbridge. Held annually, this conference brings researchers from multiple disciplines together in one space, to explore inter-disciplinary opportunities, present their work, and network with other researchers. The conference provides a platform to showcase all types of traditional and non-traditional research, and facilitates student growth and evolution as academics, scholars, and practitioners. The conference is now in its 12th year and is spread over two days, with the 3 Minute Thesis Finals being held as part of the opening ceremony.
This conference is made possible by the generous support of our sponsors:

Meeting of the Minds 2018
The Graduate Students' Association (GSA) is pleased to invite students, faculty, staff and community members to attend the 12th Annual Meeting of the Minds Inter-Disciplinary Conference on the 24th of March, 2018 in the Markin Hall Atrium. Free parking is available at the University on the day of the event.
Please join us for all or some sessions, the keynote address and for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. The graduate students and the Graduate Students' Association would be grateful for your support. We also hope that you join us for the GSA's 3MT Wine and Cheese Reception on the 23rd of March from 7pm onwards (immediately after 3MT Finals).
Our conference theme this year is "Accessibility". The theme was chosen to honor the ever increasing need to bridge the gap between academia and application and to create environments where research is accessible and inclusive.
The keynote address; "Fifty Years Plus One: Liberal Education at the U of L" will be given by Dr Shelly Wismath. Dr Wismath will speak about the new School of Liberal Education and what it means for the U of L in its 51st year and in the future. Dr Wismath was awarded the University of Lethbridge’s Distinguished Teaching Award, held the inaugural Board of Governors’ Teaching Chair, and in 2017 was named a 3M National Teaching Fellow. In October 2017 she was appointed as the first Dean of the University’s new School of Liberal Education.
