The Graduate Students' Association (GSA) at the University of Lethbridge is a student body of graduate students, elected by our peers to represent graduate student issues at various levels of the university. Our mandate is to identify graduate student needs in order to ensure policies across the university advocate for students appropriately.

11th Annual Meeting of the Minds Conference

The Biggest Event of the Year is Here Again!

The GSA is proud and happy to invite you to our 11th Annual Meeting of the Minds Conference! Starting with 3MT finals on Friday evening and continuing the whole day of Saturday March 18th. Come and enjoy insightful research presentations, great posters and amazing music along with wine and cheese reception and free food all day.

Self-care tips

Location: Andy's Place (AH100)

The GSA, in collaboration with the Success Centre and Counseling Services, will be holding a Mental Health Event offered only to the GRAD STUDENTS.

It will be an informative session on common mental health issues experienced by graduate students, including warning signs and self-care strategies to manage this challenging time!

If learning to look after yourself is not motivation enough to attend, refreshments, pop, juice, and appetizers will be provided (so your hunger will be looked after as well).

When: Friday, March 13th @ 7PM (meet us at 6:45PM at the NE entrance to get your ticket!)

How to get there via LA Transit: 
1. Go to Downtown via Route 12-City Centre
2. From downtown, the following buses will take you to Galaxy Bowling and Pizza: 

  • 20-North: Takes you to the front of the venue on 23 St North Route on Google maps: Click HERE for map.
  • 22-North: Takes you close to the venue on 23 St N, but turns right on 14 Ave N. Get off on that turn and follow 23 St N for about two minutes. Venue will be on your left. Route on Google Maps: Click HERE for map.

What: Trip to Waterton, AB! We are planning shopping, a hike and dinner at Wieners of Waterton
Who: Any graduate student at the U of L is welcome to attend
How: GSA will provide transportation
Cost: $10 per student, collected at the GSA Office BEFORE the trip. Please see our office ours located at to see when you can stop by to provide your $10 and sign a field trip waiver.

Don't forget to let us know which events you would like to take part in while we are in Waterton when you RSVP! We are also looking for a few volunteers to drive a minivan. If you are over 25 and interested in volunteering to drive, please advise us in your RSVP.

Fall 2014 New & Continuing Student Orientation

As outlined on the above link, this year there will be two events. A workshop held by SGS and an orientation held by GSA. Please note that ALL students are invited to attend both events, as well as the Wine & Cheese Social which will be held in the Markin Hall Atrium from 5pm-7pm on September 5th. We look forward to seeing you there!

Session: Overview and Gallery of Graduate Student Services followed by a Graduate Student Social
Hosted by: University of Lethbridge Graduate Students’ Association (GSA)
Description: This afternoon orientation will feature an introduction to SGS and GSA Services, followed by a gallery of other student services on campus. Students will be able to walk from table-to-table to discuss services on campus that are available for all students. But, during this orientation, service departments will be able to discuss how their services are geared specifically for Graduate Students. Best of all, students can choose which service departments to speak with based on their needs as an individual! See below for a list of invited service departments. Following the introduction of GSA and SGS and the gallery, there will be a Wine & Cheese social. All Graduate Students are welcome to attend!
